According to the Drinking Water Ordinance 2001, planners and manufacturers of drinking water supply systems in watercraft such as yachts, boats, or houseboats are obliged to design them in such a way that a high level of supply security and impeccable hygienic conditions are guaranteed. "Drinking water supply systems must be planned, installed, and operated in such a way that drinking water is supplied even when several foreseeable extreme conditions occur (e.g., heating of storage tanks/hoses in summer, vibrations)..."1. From this special requirement of "mobile systems," the Water Management Standards Committee (NAW) NA 119-04-01 AA "Guidelines for Drinking Water Supply" developed the standard DIN 2001-2: Drinking water supply from small systems and non-stationary systems - Part 2: Non-stationary systems - Guidelines for requirements for drinking water, planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of systems.
